Since 2018, MiR has been working on the “Educational Choice” project – a project aimed at enabling young people to better choose educational paths based on their own interests.
Many young people who wish to make non-traditional career choices report experiencing stigmatization and resistance from family and others with the same country background. This can lead to young people not making free choices, and ending up in professions they have no interest in, or do not master. Through dialogue meetings, films, and brochures, we want to show that there can be multiple paths to a successful life, both for boys and girls. We also work on attitude-shaping initiatives among minority parents.
The project receives support from Bufdir (The Norwegian Directorate for Children, Youth and Family Affairs).
